Rework goal:
1. Currently, there are 5 tall flowers in the game; Sunflower, Lilac, Peony, and Rose Bush. The Sniffer can find 11 new tall flower seeds in the game, for a total of 16 tall flowers, one for each color. All tall flowers including the pitcher plant would duplicate if given bonemeal.
2. The seed loot table differs in different types of ground: dirt, rooted dirt, coarse dirt, sand, red sand, gravel, mycelium, podzol, moss, clay, mud, snow, and terracotta.
3. The sniffer breeds if given the full-grown plant instead of the seed.
4. The torchflower glows.
Design intention:
1. This rework introduces higher accessibility for players due to more options to obtain dye. Higher accessibility leads to better development of more colorful and creative builds. This rework does not render other means of dye farming useless, rather than incentivizes the players to go out and explore to utilize the 1.20 mechanics that they often overlooked, to actually get a sniffer.
2. To introduce a new set of challenges and incentivize exploration, players must go out of their way to seek soil variants that are needed as a prerequisite for the sniffer to find the new seeds. This prevents staleness in the player experience, as they gather things to build the new sanctuary for the sniffers.
3. I think it's more intuitive to use the fully grown flowers based on my own firsthand experience. This also incentivizes the players to grow the seeds.
4. I think it's a missed opportunity not to.
