I’m writing to express my deep frustration regarding the 5-minute despawn timer for dropped items in Minecraft.
While reorganizing my base, I broke a chest full of valuable items—including 13 diamonds, 2 stacks of iron, emeralds, gold ingots, a diamond pickaxe, saddle, gold horse armor, and many other rare resources. My inventory was full, so I couldn’t pick everything up immediately. I placed the new chest, returned—and everything was gone.
This mechanic feels unfair and punishing, especially when the player is still actively nearby and clearly hasn't abandoned the items. I didn’t die. I wasn’t far away. I was literally organizing my base, and now hours of progress are gone in seconds.
I urge the team to reconsider this despawn timer. Let us configure it, or at least extend the time for important items. Losing everything like this makes the game feel frustrating instead of rewarding.
Please take this seriously. Minecraft is a creative and survival game, not one that should punish players with mechanics that feel outdated and needlessly harsh.
Sincerely,
Ajmal khani (Levigod70)
