My initial reaction to the reveal of Vibrant Visuals was very positive. However, after using it, I have grown more and more to disliking it and finding it annoying. I believe I have pinpoint the reason for my shift in opinion to the changes in color that come with it.
Words that I would describe the feeling I get when playing Minecraft are "solemn," "melancholic," and "dreary." This is largely due to the idea that I am alone in a vast world, humbly living off the land. This can additionally be a result of the relatively dull and faded colors that the game has. As a result, I really like this feeling and I have long come to associate Minecraft with this.
With Vibrant Visuals however, this feeling is completely thrown out the window. Beyond current graphical bugs, Vibrant Visuals gives the whole game a bright warm hint of orange and raises the contrast of everything tenfold. This is especially apparent during the day and even then, night time has a similar issue, albeit lesser.
Vibrant Visuals is a great idea but, either it needs to be changed, or an option needs to be added so that the colors of the world isn't so saturated and is more dull so that it can retain the dreary bleak feeling the game has been loved for, for the longest time.
