Dried Ghasts are now way too common

I know that it's desired for these things to be easily accessible by the player, but having all these ways to get it now? With how often it spawns in the soulsand valley? I really think it should not be craftable and it's spawn rate reduced. It should be useful but it should also feel special, you know?

    I agree, but only on how common it generates in soul sand valleys. The crafting recipe is the hardest way to get the dried ghast, because obtaining 8 ghast tears requires you to kill 16 ghasts on average without looting, and there is alway the risk that the tears will fall into fire/lava. The only players who can really take advantage of the recipe are ones with elytra and looting swords who would have to go look for new chunks with soul sand valleys in their old worlds.

    Why do we need a crafting recipe if they are obtainable through bartering, killing ghasts is easy

    Finding and bartering only please. I'm dubious about crafting: you might sell me on something like the iron golem mechanic but not on the crafting table grid!

    Keep the crafting recipe, but slightly decrease the spawn rate.

    I agree that it should not be craftable. It doesn't make sense to me to be able to craft a mob.
    But to still make it accessible, it should spawn frequently in soulsand valleys, making a reason to travel there.
    I get it is hard to obtain ghast tears for the crafting recipe, but it still feels somehow lazy to me.

    It should be required to be found in the nether imo, the game is still lacking in reasons to explore and that would be a great reason to go out of your way to delve deep into the nether on a quest to find these. Would feel way more rewarding if this was the only way to acquire them.
