Glowing Armor Trims With Ink Sacs and Glowstone.

When trimming your armor in a smithing table theres an extra slot where you can either put a glow ink sac or glowstone.
Leaving the slot blank will keep the armor trim the same as it has always been.

Choosing a glow ink sac will give the trim itself a glow effect like signs where it doesn't emit light.

Choosing glowstone dust will give the effect of the glow ink sac but also give your armor a glowing effect. each piece will add more glow the same as a candle does.
