    I totally agree that Happy Ghasts are too slow right now to be useful for transport or exploration. Something like a speed boost, maybe triggered when sprinting or through a potion—would help them feel more practical and exciting to use.

    I still haven't seen anyone explain why the HG being painfully slow helps when building, but let's assume for the sake of argument that it is.

    Here's a proposal:

    Make a speed enchantment that can be added to ghast harnesses (maybe to boots or other 'animal armors' too? Idk, I'm just trying to solve the HG problem), and let it have levels 1-3, each of which adds 1 m/s to the Ghast's speed. By level 3 people who want a decent flying mount have one, and for those who like building with a ghast but don't know how to stop moving can have their uncomfortably slow and useless ghast.

    Using the mouse wheel can be adjust happy ghast speed. Maybe can be upgraded the happy ghast to earn more speed maximum.

    maybe not making their base speed faster but rather making them be affected by speed potions would work and not be too op I think

    I think it's a bit slow, but I think the initial speed would be good. We could create a speed system that could be improved to make it faster and more resistant to bug attacks, etc. Thanks.

    The happy ghast is excellent for construction purposes, but lacks efficiency as a mean of transportation. I believe we should be able to choose what is the role of our happy friend. Want to build? the mobility now is on point, maybe when we go third person, the field of vision should be able to be adjusted so we can see where we are going since the collision box of the happy ghast is gigantic. Want to travel? maybe a new item found in the nether (not the end, since when you get there you are now closer to the elytra) than makes the happy ghast not insanely faster, but maybe a little boost that would rival the speed of a normal ghast? it could be a consumable item to make it balanced.
    I don't think the speed should be changed but rather make it possible so we can modify it as we need it

    yes and to those who say the speed is perfect for building at that point use creative like i wanna be able to shoot my maxed bow from it to piss off my enemies not to make turtles think there fast

    The passive ghast is indeed too slow.

    When travelling longer distances, it could be made faster temporarily (kind of like the elytra) by using fireworks.

    When using the fireworks, it could be faster for 3s or whatever the elytra is, but not as fast as the elytra. Maybe double the speed of what the ghast normally is.
