    Nice concepts!

Though it seems that items such as echo shards, the armor trims and enchanted apples are not intended to be gotten by this way (would be too overpowered).

I'd suggest that Wandering Traitors sell some unique items. Since they are outcast from the illagers, some traded items could allow you to use illager-like powers (like spells similar to evokers or illusioners, or some kind of allay summoning). But you have to keep trading with traitors, as these items are consumed upon usage. Maybe they could have trade levels like villagers, selling better things the more you trade with them!

Wandering traitors' behavior and trading could be sinister and suspicious, due to their origins and assassin look.

And they could sell some enchanted books, the new music disc you said, and/or access to something. And, of course, some more "common" items to buy or sell. Your concept of "illegal items" could live too; Mojang is creative and would find a good balance.

    Congrats :D

To comment on the echo shards, armor trims, and enchanted golden apples, they are added here as a renewable method of acquisition if exploring, generating new chunks, all chests have been looted/destroyed, etc.

They are not a means to replace current loot sources for those items, but instead to complement them and be there as an option when the normal means are not possible (Superflat/skyblock words). The Wandering Traitor is meant to be more like a black market kind of deal- so the question of how they got their goods is not to be openly questioned, but left up to imagination and best not to think too hard on. I want them to have a distinct purpose, and their "illegal" goods would not be common; they would be extremely rare given that the items are supposed to be non-renewable otherwise. Additionally, tying some trades to moon/weather phases might help with narrowing down loot choices.

Overall, I want this to be a vanilla and organic way to have renewable sources for some items/blocks that aren't normally renewable because some items/blocks might become extinct on servers, which always stinks. I just don't like the idea of some things being limited in a game where limits should be defined by the player.

Thank you for your thoughts on my idea.
