This game is literally one of the greatest games ever created and will be held up as the pinnacle of sandbox and open-world game design for years to come.
I was thinking back about how "full" the Nether Update felt when it was released, and how it felt like the perfect amount of biomes to explore in that dimension. When I think of the Nether, I think of a scary, lonely hellscape that when I see it, gives me little goosebumps. Having the small number of 5 different biomes makes this feel perfect.
Now, when I think of the overworld, I feel more safe. I feel like I could walk forever, I feel like I could cave forever, I feel like I could explore forever, and find something new every time. I know that you've said you want to keep the feel of Minecraft, and I have a suggestion to make that work.
Make the overworld feel like the overworld. I think that the number of cave biomes should echo the number of other biomes in the overworld, and obviously not in the same number of variations. I think that there should be more biomes in the caves than in the Nether, at least 6 or 7 cave biomes, in order for this update to feel more full. You already have 4, if you include normal caves, and I would like to suggest a frozen cave biome, a purple and red mushroom cave biome shrouded in darkness, and small cave grotto's that spawn like amethyst geodes.
I know that ya'll will make that right decision, but the community deserves the best you can give them, and I wanted to make some suggestions.
