Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Flint Blocks (Decoration and Possible Uses)

amethyst and nether quartz are both quartz (SiO2). and they can both be crafted into their unique blocks, and cant be crafted back. flint is a type of non crystalline quartz (also SiO2) and its the only type of quartz in game without a block form.

this block would be crafted with 4 flint in a square, similar to amethyst and nether quartz, and it would not be a storage block because it wouldnt be able to be crafted back into flint, also like the amethyst block and the nether quartz block.

this block could be either only decorative, with a nice dark angular design similar to some roof tiles (a good use i have in my head), or it could have unique properties, such as being a block that can be lit on fire indefinitely, or something more complex like being able to hold heat from fire even when a fire placed near it has gone out, and being able to set blocks placed near it on fire if too much heat is given to it. Another idea is that it could be crafted into certain trap blocks, which fall when stepped on, for example trapped coarse dirt could be made from 2 flint blocks (8 flint) and 2 dirt blocks. 

(these are just ideas, all i really want is the first bit, a decorative block, the rest is just ideas you could look at)

    Possible uses:

    1. Storage block.

    2. a falling block.

    3. a falling block that does not fall unless something steps on it.

    4. a whetstone (when you strike it while holding a tool/weapon, that tool/weapon gains durability.)

    Blastminer9004 thanks for the feedback, I've added my take on one of your ideas to the post.
    I really like the idea of a whetstone but i think it should be implemented as its own thing, which I've thought about and think i might make a post on.
    The reason I'm saying it should not be a storage block is because flint is a type of quartz, and other types of quartz in the game are intentionally not made into storage blocks but decorations (amethyst and nether quartz), but i do understand where you're coming from because it would be more useful.
