So balancing combat to work for PC, controller and touchscreen is fickle business but I have a relatively simple idea that could work for java too, add like 2 new armor sets and maybe 2 new weapons each respectively based upon defense and offense, this way for like bedrock players who cant be as mobile or nimble and agile can go for the more defensive option so they can still hold their ground against a PC player and it would add a whole new dimension to combat, like for offensive the armor when a full set could let you move a bit faster but have lower armor levels compared to a normal full set if netherite/diamond! And for defensive which would probably be more dominantly for touchscreen/controller players who cant be very agile in combat, this aromor could give higher defensive levels than netherite or diamond but make you a bit slower and stuff! And in terms of weapons based off these the offensive set could get like a dagger that has pretty speedy attack speed but doesnt do a ton of damage and needs you to be closer and for based upon defensive it could be like a claymore or something where it has a wider range but it can contribute to movement speed being lower when your holding it and it will have a lower attack speed but higher damage per hit! I think this idea would be relatively simple way to A: add a lot more to combat B: be balanced for bedrock so controller/touchscreen players can hold their own against PC player better!
