Hello Mojang, and any Latin scholars and Language nerds,
I would like to suggest some changes to the Latin setting. With some polish, Minecraft can make Latin a lot more fun for all of us.
I have been monitoring the Latin language file, and while I have not seen everything in 1.17's setting, I think it has potential, even if it isn't fully accurate. I cannot give all my ideas in one post, but if you people at Mojang wish for more suggestions, please do contact me with my account's email. I have a passion for Latin and would be willing to work on translations. In fact, I already have been working on cleaning it up.
Seeing as the Caves and Cliffs update is beginning to come, I'd like to suggest some cave and cliffy stuff.
I think the translation for "ore" should be changed. Currently it is "aes," which can mean a metal ore, but not in the case of gold and silver. "Aes" is especially copper or bronze, as in "aes cuprium". Translating "ore" as "minerale" would make it applicable to all ores.
Rubrolapidus is a good translation for redstone, but I would suggest rubrilapidus instead, since -o- would be used to combine two colors.
Beacon should be translated as "pharus", consistently with Italian and Spanish "faro".
I have many other thoughts, but unfortunately very few characters. I hope that I can help to create a better Minecraft and a more fun Latin resource for my friends and many others. Also, thank you Mojang for caring about Latin.
