For people who use a laptop without an external mouse maybe have a togglable setting for "locking" the use of the spyglass i.e. when you use the spyglass it stays in use until you click the use button again to make it easier to use without having to hold down a button when trying to change directions and walk 

( i use my touchpad for facing the direction arrows for movement and A,S,D for break, use/place/ jump it is very awkward to use spyglass however not everyone would want the use to lock the spyglass in place hence the ability to toggle if it locks or not)
