Tools are not destroyed

when I am mining with a pick that is important to me and before I can go to fix it on an anvil, it breaks and I lose it forever. It would be cool if the tools with at least one enchantment or when they have unbreakable when they are used do not disappear from your inventory, but something like the elytras happens, that they are destroyed and cannot be used, but that they do not disappear forever.  Also put this in minecraft Java and bedrock

    Or... instead you could just stop using your good pickaxe when its low on durability, and wait until you get a chance to repair it to use it again.
