Using regular deepslate for bricks and tiles instead of cobble deepslate

As of 21w19a, deepslate can be used to make different variants. I especially love the deepslate bricks, but I am confused with the way that crafting these are implemented. If I want to craft stone bricks, I have to smelt cobblestone, and then craft them into bricks either through the crafting table, or the stone cutter. With deepslate however, if I smelt the cobbled deepslate back into deepslate, I can no longer make any of the variants through the stone cutter or crafting. I was wondering if this could be changed to be consistent with stone, as to avoid this confusion.

    I love the idea, but my suggestion is a little bit different

    Deepslate bricks and Polished deepslate is made from Deepslate block
    While Tiled deepslate blocks are made from Cobbled deepslate.

    Why? I see deepslate as more "polished" itself so in my mind harder pieces of stone would be used for bricks and sculptures (polished blocks). And tiles would be made from cracked and broken pieces of stone, which can be easily obtained from cobbled variant.
