Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Spells should be powered by Amethyst

If Spells or Magic wands were to be added to Minecraft, they should require Amethyst shards to function. How powerful the spell would be would determine the amount of Amethyst it needs. This would make amethyst function like SP or Mana and would give a reason to return to geodes since you'll need to refill on amethyst.

    Magic that is currently in Minecraft lore (as far as I am aware) seems to be divided into two categories: blue, & purple.

    "Blue" magic is used by the evokers & illusioners, as well as to alter life & death in the form of the respawn anchor. Blue is also the colour of soul particles & soul fire. Golems & the wither would fit into this category. Also, the beacon is blue. (Ender pearls are also blue)

    "Purple" magic is the magic used by basically anything that has ender in its name, as well as (possibly) crying obsidian. The enchantment glint is purple.

    I want to see what Mojang would do with a magic system (which would probably be centred around amethyst, lapis lazuli, soul sand/soil, gold & books)

    Good examples for spells can be Firecharger (shoots fireballs), Firecharger II (shoots Ghast fireballs), Necromancer (summons undead allies), and Websight (shoots cobwebs to keep enemies in place).
