The new copper blocks are incredible and very interesting. They are the latest in a small group of blocks and items available to builders to give their builds a sense of elapsed time or neglect. These include cracked blocks, cobwebs, mossy blocks, vines and other context specific items like charcoal and others. The Archaeology update is a good example of an opportunity to give players more ways to give a sense of this aesthetic in their worlds. What I am hoping for this update, or generally in the future, is an expansion of sorts. Ideally, a new category of blocks, or retroactive additions to existing ones. These can be new blocks unique to Archaeology that are old and ancient. On the other hand you can add more cracked and mossy blocks. In this case we could see cracked concrete or other blocks that otherwise dont have these variants. Smelting a block could give you the cracked variant, simple as that. With the new Moss block, making mossy variants is a no brainer. Its a simple and elegant way to create ruins out of currently existing blocks for this update, and gives players a way to create a cohesive aesthetic to their builds otherwise unavailable. New conceits could include a dirty or dusty look, a fragile crumbling one, dust/ash layers many options here. This is attainable through generation or crafting, this is NOT a mechanic, like copper, as interesting as that would be.
