In light of the growing issue with climate on our shared planet I feel attention and active consideration are the most important factor in reversing the affects of climate change. My idea was something simple but unavoidably noticeable. Perhaps nearby the experience bar or in the inventory which indicates how sustainable your actions would be if done by 8 billion people on a limited sized planet.
However it's presented to the player it should be calculated by considering the amount of trees felled vs planted, how much coal is wastefully burned at the while cooking food, how many animals were killed vs how many bred and raised. Maybe even take it as far as considering how much space your agriculture takes up/ how much methane a certain amount of bred cows in an enclosure would produce or how much land they would require. I must acknowledge that this would be complicated to produce and calculate but I really do think that this is important, particularly considering the demographic of those who have computers and consoles to play Minecraft would have potential to make a big impact on the environment directly and on politics on the issue. I also advocate for preservation of the natural world so I think the score should also consider how much natural landscape disturbed/ how many ecosystems damaged but that would be much harder to implement.
Essentially the idea is to encourage players to live sustainably in Minecraft so those habits will carry over into life.
