Some of my favourite building blocks in Minecraft have been those that I can use to make builds that resemble ancient civilisations. As such, Terracotta is one of my favourite building blocks. But I've always thought Adobe would be a really awesome building block. It would have a paler, more neutral colour than Terracotta, and have a slightly rougher, grainier texture. This could allow for some really awesome ancient-civilisation type builds.
Adobe would be pretty durable too, having a blast resistance of 5, slightly higher than terracotta, but less than cobblestone.
As the title suggests, the way to obtain Adobe would be to smelt a block of Dirt in a furnace, making it a nice and very early-game building block that looks nicer than other early-game blocks such as dirt and cobblestone, and is fairly durable as well.
Adobe can also come in all the standard building block variants: Slabs, stairs, walls, cut, cut stairs, cut slabs, chiselled and cracked.
As a side note, if there is an upcoming "archaeology update" post-Caves & Cliffs, this would fit perfectly within that theme!
