Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

A way to place blocks under the one you're standing on

If you sneak and try to place a block under you, it will place a block under the one you're standing on.  This could be useful for downward staircases, instead of having to use a water bucket, elytra, creative mode, or a bug.

    This is a great idea! I have a one-block skyblock world right now, and I'm trying to make a 2nd floor under my generator block, but I don't have any water so I can't.

    how would you do this? is there a f5 thing you have to do? some instructions would help
