There is great anticipation of Mincraft’s new mob, the Warden being added to the game. From the trailer at Minecon 2020, it was explained that the Warden is Minecraft’s first sound based mob.
Let’s imagine a situation. The player is in the deep dark and accidentally alerts the warden to their position. The player tries to run but to no avail. Suddenly they remember, “Oh wait, the warden is a sound based mob, so a loud sound should stun it for a bit.” This is where the goat horn comes in. The loud sound created by the horn could temporarily distort the Warden’s senses causing it to become more defensive, making it immune from player attacks and knockback. This would make it so that there is no combat advantage for the player but only a small window of escape. To prevent the horn from becoming a complete counter, the effect would only last for around 5 seconds with a larger time frame until it could be used again.
This idea not only makes logical sense as a sound based creature would be affected by a loud sound but also fits the theme of the Caves and Cliffs update as an item found at the highest point of the world would help you at it’s lowest.
