Fairy totem prevents mobs from spawning in a radius
Ever since the game was released, builderd have asked for a way to prevent mobs from spawning without having to crowd their builds with weird-looking light sources. My take on this would be a fairy totem built with a Nether Star surrounded by wood. There are several variants (oak, birch, acacia, jungle and dark oak). The totem works even if it's not exposed to the sky, has a base radius of 10, and the radius is increased by 10 blocks when you add two different variants on top of each other, to a maximum of 50 blocks for a fully built totem (which means that a fully upgraded totem requires five Nether Stars).
