Copper Tools & Armor is usually a frowned-upon idea because they would have little use. However, there is one way to make them unique from all other toolsets: They could be the only toolset to be enchantable by potions.
How would this work? Copper tools and armor would contain the tooltip "Potion-Enabled" when they are crafted, much like how Netherite Armor has "Knockback Resistance" Up to two potions can be added to copper tools in a smithing table. They would still contain their original durations, but only activate when necessary. For example, a piece of armour with Fire Resistance would still have a time limit of 8 minutes, but this timer would only count down when the player is burning.
Copper tools and armor would not work with normal enchantments.
Here are some examples of what some potions could do.
- Regeneration: Applicable to copper armor. When damage is taken, regeneration is used until health is fully regenerated.
-Fire Resistance: Applicable to copper armor. Potion is used when the player is burning.
-Strength/Weakness: Applicable to copper armor, sword, and axe. When placed on armor, it gives the player 10 seconds of strength/weakness every time damage is taken. When placed on weapon, it gives player 10 seconds of strength/weakness every time weapon is used.
- Swiftness/Slowness: Applicable to copper boots. Gives speed/slowness whenever the player sprints.
- Water Breathing: Applicable to copper helmet. Gives water breathing when player is underwater.
