With the announcement of Frogs in the upcoming Swamp update, there is an opportunity to add more bugs to the game. Maybe even one for most biomes. So this could add not only the oft requested fireflies, but also other ones, like dragonflies, scarab beetles, butterflies and many more. So swamps could have dragonflies and fireflies, meadows/flower forest/ could have butterflies, ladybugs in plains, deserts have scarabs, savannahs will have the new termites, locusts or worms in the mega taiga and possibly new and whimsical species like an ice bug for tundra, or nether bugs, so on and so forth. With all of these new bugs, which would be a more ambient mob like the bat, comes their predator, the Frog. Introducing a frog to a bugs habitat will result in the Frog catching and eating the bugs, which is cool. At the moment I cant think of anything beneficial to the player when a frog eats a bug, but there is an opportunity for a cool feature there. If the frogs come in different varieties like the axolotl, you could catch them and place them in another biome than the swamp and they would match the biome (red frog in the nether). You can also catch bugs by clicking on them with a bottle or jar, which is placable like turtle eggs or a pot. These bugs should be tiny, way smaller than the bee. Firefly jars should emit low, ambient light and can hang from chains or float in midair. If you catch each bug you can get the "Entomologist" achievement.
