After scouring the internet for days, it's become clear to me that the issue of users being "Unable to connect to world" - specifically their friends' worlds - is widespread among MANY users and has been going on for a very long time. Last year in about June 2020 I had this same issue (which is why I stopped playing altogether), and I still can't believe it hasn't been fixed.
Microsoft clearly doesn't care that people are struggling to enjoy their game. I appreciate that work is being done to constantly add new features to the game, but this issue of users not being able to join each others worlds is actually pathetic. This is 2021, have a look at the issue, put a team to work on it and fix it. I wish I could get my money back because at this point Microsoft has frankly stolen from me and advertised a product that it can't deliver.
The thing is, Minecraft IS able to be played cross-platform (PS4 & PC) - I've managed to get it to work a handful of times by some miracle, which is why it infuriates me so much that it randomly doesn't work 99% of the time (I guess it's not that random then). I just don't understand what this issue is and why Microsoft can't take the time to solve it. I have done everything I possibly could (restarted PS, restarted router, reinstalled Minecraft, I even made a whole new Microsoft account), it is now in the hands of Microsoft to fix this problem. If they bothered to do research they would see the countless forums of people with the same issue.
