Carrier Pigeons

Minecraft is really lacking with birds, so why not add more! I suggest we add one with a GREAT use and I have an idea

Carrier Pigeons!

Everyone knows them, and they have great potential! 

Carrier pigeons would need to be a rare mob that spawns in forest biomes. This is due to their great use. Theyd also have to be non-breedable because of that. You should be able to tame a carrier pigeon, and like llamas theyd be storage, kind of. Let me explain

Unlike llamas you cant attach a chest theyre too small! Instead use 1 or 2 bundles. This would add limits but keep them useful

Are they just extra space? No! Carrier pigeons are able to do what theyve always done send items from place to place. What if you could put two bundles on a cpigeon, and send them home? Of course they would not come back once theyve reached their destination(too OP) theyd be waiting at your house with the bundles!

How would this work? Theyd try to go to their owners bed if it cant itd go to the nearest door. Unless they have a home of their own: Nests could be a pigeon home. Set it to a nest and itd fly there instead

But thats not all! 

Theyd go to your base and to your friends too! Do this by writing their name on bread and giving that to a pigeon. Once youve fed them the bread itd go to your friends doorstep! Once your friend has the gift, itd go right back!

Carrier pigeons would be a way to send home items during expeditions and send gifts to friends! I can see a world where theyre used all the time, just like dogs!

    Carrier pigeons sound great! What fun I would have with it and my lazy little minecraft legs with approve! LOL

    I think instead of writing the name of a player on bread the player should instead be able to make bird houses, and be able to send it to a specific bird house. idk just an idea lol

    maybe they should spawn as normal pidgeons, then could be tamed and turned into one.

    It wouldn't let me make my own post about this, but I raise pigeons IRL! And have some ideas, so here is what my post was going to be:

    I was playing some Minecraft and I showed my dad our epic little town and he said "where's the pigeon loft?" Adding homing/messenger/wild pigeons would be an interesting and cool addition I think. We "tame" pigeons in the real life, I think some real life characteristics of them could be added. They could eat seeds/food/mob drops off the ground, you could train them to always return home (they do this in real life!), you could add a sort of scroll item so you could send messages to other players (or just do it with the pre-existing book and quill), you can breed them into different color patterns, they capture other pigeons into their flock, if you also add hawks that could be a predator like the untamed wolves are to sheep (hawks also eat chickens), and they could serve as another source of getting feathers! There are other characteristics that could be added: pigeons always lay 2 eggs (a male and female), they naturally drop their feathers, that's all I can think of right now. Adding pigeons would be awesome, and you could eat them!
