This would make it so that each gear set would have both pros and cons to it. Say like one set have a high hit rate but low damage and another has a low hit rate but high damage. Another thing that could make gear more unique is perks, say one armor set could make it so that every 2 minutes you gain a couple of seconds of fire resistance if you catch on fire at the expense of some of the durability. This would make it so that players would search for and use gear that suits their play style instead of just using one set because its the best in every way. This would also encourage players to experiment by combining different pieces of gear sets.
