using copper and redstone a drill could be crafted in all tiers of tools, drills are significantly worse than pickaxes but, mine deepslate and tuff much faster, this could take down the montinty of making perimeters in 1.17, because of how mobs spawn, farms work better lower and this would take nearly 3 times as long to make a mob farm, it would also add a use for copper as its quickly becoming useless to a lot of players, you could also make all drills need to be repaired with copper, adding a constant need for the ore. along with this a netherite drill could mine faster in a basalt delta, as its very slow to create underground areas in that biome.
