Minecraft 1.18 Update Idea: Together Update

This will be a minor update, but an update that may be favored by many players.

What if the 1.18 update will be for multiplayer only? The update will be mainly to stomp issues like lag or expanding more slots in a server (I don't really know every single issue that's related to multiplayer)

Or something along the lines of making it more compatible and easier for big servers to update. I'm just throwing a thought here since multiplayer has really been one of the main reasons why I play Minecraft so much, and it'd suck if there are issues in the multiplayer section.
