Now, Nitwits are boring. They're supposed to be the village... Well... Not-smart-guy, but right now they're only difference from normal villagers is no job. Here's my idea, cut up into sections:
Skins:
Snowy villager nitwits would have their caps/earmuffs on backwards.
Plains nitwits would have multiple mud spots on their clothes.
Jungle nitwits would have vines stuck on top of their heads.
Swamp nitwits would have fake, bad-quality witch hats.
Taiga nitwits would have podzol stuck in random places.
Desert nitwits have bits of cactus on their robes.
I could do more, but there's just too many to fit. Please leave ideas in the comments!
Behavior:
Nitwits would ring the bell at random times.
Nitwits from all biomes except snowy would throw eggs at random mobs (snowy nitwits throw snowballs.)
Nitwits noses twitch from time to time.
Nitwits would hand out poisonous potatoes to villagers, then the villager makes angry particles and gives it back, then the nitwit throws it back, and this continues until one leaves.
Nitwits throw fish to cats, then scare the cats away.
Nitwits try to trample crops.
