To be fair, I really dislike many things about Bedrock (the UI is worse than the dirt screens, which at least have charm), but as I too run Linux this would be nice to have as an option. Especially if all these "migrations" end up "migrating" everything onto it anyway (this is not a suggestion!).

Same. I left Windows, but want to continue playing Minecraft Bedrock on Linux. I'm even willing to buy the game again for the 5th time. (Already bought on Windows [Java and Bedrock], PS4 and Android.)

This is hard to do, even under wine. But because bedrock is coded in C or C++, it can be easily compiled for linux with a few changes,

I have family members with mobile devices that want to play Minecraft but won't unless I, a Linux user, join them.  So... in the business sense, you're not losing one Linux user, you're losing four would-be Switch users.

Minecraft Bedrock on Linux is possible : as a matter of fact, the Android version of the game relies on a shared library (libminecraftpe.so), which is basically compiled code, and Android runs on the Linux kernel. Sooo... When will Microsoft accept that more and more users are migrating to Linux and that it is pointless to keep Minecraft Bedrock to Windows as a commercial argument ?

I would love to have a Linux version but it seems Microsoft are being Microsoft and are not supporting Linux, probably out of greed.

I agree, if Windows worked without destroying itself every 2-3 months making me lose data and reinstall everything, i probably wouldn't have switched to linux, but i want my pc to actually work, not crap itself because of a poorly written security patch.  Microsoft, if you're reading this, STOP USING AI TO CODE YOUR OS, IT CAUSES MORE PROBLEMS THAN IT'S WORTH.  also isn't bedrock written in C?  so by all means it should be fairly easy to port over, considering C is fairly universal, maybe not completely, but considering its the same architecture as windows has used since 2005 (x86_64 / amd64), just evolved a bit.  I'd like to not have to use an unofficial launcher that runs the android app, which by the way, ANDROID IS LINUX BASED, SO WHY CAN'T IT BE DONE?

why not attempt supporting it? whats the harm? we have flatpak now, or appimage. we have solutions to the fragmentation of the linux desktop.

Minecraft Bedrock for Windows recently moved from UWP to GDK... Which is supported by a fork on Wine that you can find on GitHub. This means that you can run Minecraft Bedrock on Linux through Wine (ray-tracing also works!). For now, Microsoft login has not been implemented, meaning that you can join servers only using proxies that will relay them as LAN worlds, and the version of cURL distributed with Minecraft Bedrock has to be replaced with another one, available on the same GitHub page as the fork of Wine I already mentionned, to make the Marketplace work. Apart from that, the game works flawlessly. I expect support for it by Lutris or guides on the Internet in the next months.
I still do not see why Microsoft refuses to bring official support for Minecraft Bedrock to Linux.

I need the Xbox live login to work, I only use bedrock to play with friends. So that workaround doesn’t help me.

This would be a godsend, I recently moved over to Linux, mostly because of the Windows 10 EoS. Though I mainly play Java, the superior version, I still play Bedrock occasionally with friends

I've been playing Minecraft for many years. I bought the Java and Bedrock packages a while ago since I play both versions. I play on Linux for personal reasons, and I find it humiliating that a company that generates millions, if not billions, a year in sales on both PC and mobile can't adapt the Bedrock version of the official PC launcher for Linux. Why don't they simply hire the people who make it possible for us Linux players to enjoy the Bedrock version on our computers?

I’ve been part of the Minecraft community for years. I own both Java and Bedrock editions, and Minecraft has genuinely been a big part of my life.

I recently moved to Linux for personal and professional reasons, and while Java works perfectly, I feel left out when my friends and family play on Bedrock. Cross-play is the only way we can all be together — and right now, I simply can’t join them properly.

I already own Bedrock. I even have Minecoins on my account. I am willing to buy more Minecoins and support the Marketplace, creators, and the ecosystem. But I can’t use what I already paid for, simply because I use Linux. That feels incredibly frustrating and discouraging as a loyal customer.

Linux users are not asking for special treatment — just equal access. Bedrock already runs on platforms closely related to Linux. The community has shown it’s technically possible. What we’re missing is official support.

Please consider bringing official Minecraft Bedrock support to Linux. Not just for technical reasons — but for the players who truly love this game and want to stay part of its world.

    Thank you for listening.
