Recently I've noticed 2 problems the weather is the same everywhere you go in minecraft and thunderstorms are rare.
My ideas is to add a biome possibly called challenger deep as an uncommon ocean biome. When you go there the ocean gets dramatically deeper think new depths with the cave update and it will commonly have thunderstorms and maybe always have rain. This could also be home to the glow squid. It could potentially have new ores. It would make getting mob heads while still hard to do easier as well as setting off skeleton horse traps. With this biome comes the second Idea weather diversity. Possibly make the weather in one part of the world different from another. Or make rain in deserts with sand particles. Possible keep the new biome as rain, but when in this biome rain= lightning. Just some ideas for coding. I think this would be a great addition in a future update and have been seeing the ground work layed down in 1.16. I hope you take this into consideration and if not this than a biome/dimension like it with the same more common lightning theme. Maybe it could rain more commonly in jungles and swamps.
