This idea is similar in concept to this: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360073552672-Volcanic-Caves?input_string=volcanic%20caver- so go vote for this one too.
But anyway, here's the idea. Down at Y= -64 (In the deepslate layers), there's already a lava flood, where it's seeping up from the mantle (The Nether, perhaps?). Anyway, I think in certain areas, there should be "Lava tubes" that are lined with igneous rocks and make their way all the way up to the surface. At the lower end, the rocks are some combination of magma blocks, basalt, and blackstone (Ultramafic to Mafic), Andesite and Diorite in the mid third (Andesitic/intermediate), and Granite in the top third (Felsic). This is generally how magma differentiates, with the low-silica materials settling out first, then mid-silica, then high-silica. It would add just that touch of realism.
I will do a follow-up post on some other interesting igneous structures that should definitely be added.
Cheers!
