I would like to see Cowboys alongside Mesa villages added into Minecraft in the next major update after Caves & Cliffs.
The Mesa biome is boring (besides the fact that it looks like my favourite food). The way it's unique is because of the colours and the fact that there is an overwhelming amount of gold underground. I don't think that's enough for an extremely rare biome. It would be a great place to have some life and enjoyment as you explore the badlands. I think the devs should add villages into the badlands and have a format similar to the desert villages.
With there are towns there need to be defenders! Well, I think there should be cowboys in the Mesa. There would be two types of cowboys, one passive and one hostile. For the first cowboy, I think those should be sheriffs. These sheriffs would give players missions to find outlaws (I'll explain those later). They could be found in 40% of villages. They would have a respective building too, in this case, an office. The bounty amount and item(s) would vary.
For the second type, the wicked pillagers would be the evil-doers. When you would accept a quest, these bad boys would spawn in an 80-block radius. They would be wielding a crossbow and would be mounted on a horse. Rarely, these outlaws would band together and would attack villages across the county! If you manage to hold off and defeat them, you could go to the sheriff and receive huge pay!
This idea is what I would very much like to see in Minecraft.
