In Minecraft, if a player was to hit 1 pig from a group of say 5 total pigs, only that 1 would run away from the player, making it easy for players to farm for food.
I think it would be an interesting if a new feature was introduced called Herding,
A natural spawning herd consists of about 4 to 6 mobs of 1 mob type and this number can vary over the herds timeline.
If a player was to attack 1 of these pigs from the herd, the whole herd would flee away from the player
if a herd was to come across a singular mob of the same mob type, that mob would likely join the herd and begin to follow the herd leader, this doesn't always happen tho.
A herd leader is the main animal in the group, the rest of the herd would follow the leader if the leader is in travel mode, and if the leader is in rest mode, the herd would stay in 1 area and begin to rest or eat from the surroundings.
It could be possible for say a sheep to join a pig herd to show that mobs aren't subjectively set to stay in groups of the same mob type.
It could be interesting for a rare herd to spawn where either a pink sheep could spawn in a pig herd or a brown sheep to spawn in a cow herd, this could work for other herd types introduced such as llamas or parrots.
