Portal decay

I may be suggesting something as annoying as the phantom, but it could be important to the lore. So basically the obsidian in nether portals will slowly decay into crying obsidian and for each crying obsidian, the portal becomes more and more unstable. It could have a chance of exploding or damaging the player while they are going through. Players will have to constantly repair their portals. This could be turned off in settings.

    I believe it would make sense for this decay to be faster when portals are turned on and off for lack of a better description assuming it isn't simply linked to such cycling entirely.

    I would also suggest that the speed be similar to that of copper oxidation.
