Introduction To make caving more risky and less dull, I propose adding redstone traps within caves. These traps would attempt to harm the player in a simple, not complex, manner.
Trap Ideas
- Cave In A gravel roof would collapse upon the player after the blocks are updated from a redstone line
- Unstable Floor Occurs when a player steps on a pressure plate which triggers the floor to fall, potentially leading to a death from a great height
- Landmine Triggered by a pressure plate which sets off 4 blocks of TNT which can lead to an explosive death
- Arrow Dispenser A tripwire hook inside a mineshaft would trigger a dispenser to fire arrows at the player, similar to how Jungle Temples work
- Dripstone Cluster After the player steps on a pressure plate, a dozen pistons above them retract and let loose a huge cluster of dripstones ready to impale them
- Ambush Triggered by an observer detecting an ore. When the ore is broken, a dozen infested stone blocks around the ore break, revealing a group of hungry silverfish
- Cage The harmless trap where a pressure plate triggers four pistons around the pressure plate to attempt to trap the player in a small space
