Play old versions on Realms

I love Minecraft as a game but am worried that the constant updates are changing the nature of the game. Updates are great, but when every few months to years there are major changes to the game it stops being the original game I love and begins to resemble a totally different one. I play Realms with people because hosting servers is easy this way, but unfortunately we can only play the most recent version of the game this way. We would really appreciate a way to play previous versions of the game on Realms

    I agree, this would also be useful for maintaining compatibility with custom maps.

    I strongly agree with this user! I think, though minecraft realm is fast and I can even connect and play with my friends in China when I am in Canada, it is still impossible for me to play previous versions of minecraft in realm. So, I hope the minecraft team can update realm!

    Maybe there should even be a way to host a Realm on versions where Realms didn't even exist. That way, people can easily play Alpha or something with their friends.

    REALLY REALLY WANT THIS!! I have tons of mods that I want to use but as of now I can't use shaders, texture packs, OR MODS because most of them are still in 1.18.9 but I can't reverse my realm. I really think it's not fair that we can reverse worlds & the version of minecraft all together, but not realms.

    WE NEED THIS! I WANT OLD MINECRAFT ON REALMS! NOT JUST ONLY THE NEW MINECRAFT!

    My brother and I got really nostalgic and wanted to play 1.8 together on a realm. It's too bad that doesn't seem possible but I think it's a really good idea
