The bestiary is a real-life Minecraft book, and I think it could be interesting in-game. This is inspired by the Ice and Fire mod's bestiary, with some new ideas.
Getting it
- Craft using a book and a rotten flesh/bone/spider eye
Using it
- It can be read like a book and quill
- There is a contents page at the start to go straight to an entry of your choosing
- You can also use the arrows like a book and quill
- The text is an exact copy of the original book, and the images are a Minecraft-style version of the original. The zombie pigman one must be modified slightly so it fits as a zombified piglin. New pages must be made for the new mobs,
Upgrading it/Mobestiary Pages
- You can upgrade it with Mobesitiary Pages. Either use an anvil or put it into a lecture and right-click on it.
- A mobestiary page has a data tag based on what mob it is, and you can't have the same page twice in the same mobestiary. The mob is shown in its tooltip, too.
- Mobestiary pages can be gotten from: archaeology (most basic ones), dungeons (dungeon mobs), Nether fortresses/bastions (Nether mobs, only fortresses contain blazes/wither skelles), woodland mansions (illagers) and pillager towers (raid mobs)
- You can also get a page by using a spyglass in your main hand and a piece of paper on your offhand. Scope in on a mob and you will write a page slowly about it. The paper is replaced with a "part written mobestiary page" and will have its per cent of research shown in its tooltip, and it's subject.
