One of the main advantages of the old console edition update cycle was that we got all or almost all of the features of a java update in a title update even if we were a couple of major updates behind. However, bedrock edition has being missing features such as map markers and dual wielding, although the later could just be they are trying to get it to work with a mobile control scheme, there is no reason for the lack of map markers, banners on shields, custom superflats, etc. Moving forward we should have all the features of the java update that can be included, implemented in the equivalent bedrock update or added shortly afterwards just like the old console edition used to have.
PS: This is not to discredit any of the great work the bedrock team have been doing lately, the new mountain biomes look amazing and the game is really well optimized, I just feel Minecraft could be even better on bedrock if there wasn't some features missing.
