When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

What you mean is not a Minecart Overhaul, it is a Minecart extension, nothing mods can't handle.

What I understand from a Minecart Overhaul is, changing and improving the whole track system. It would be great, if you could build actual rollercoasters with it, by not having only such sharp corner, but smoother longer curves over multiple blocks, with leaning angles in different directions. Having different slope intensities as well as maybe making a Minecart hang on a chain, that slides down a zipline type of rail. More rail variety: Rails that teleport you to another rail in a max distance of 16 blocks or so, that one is craftet with an enderperle. Broken rails, for visual, but maybe even rails that just brake your minecart while you fly further and if you land on a special minecart you enter it automatically, if you fall on it.

Allowing the placement of rails on walls to have 90° drops or to be able to build a loop with it.

All these options would also give a lot of new possibilities for decoration.

Minecarts that hang from the ceiling and you can attach a chain or piston to it to pick up blocks from underneath, this would give complete new possibilities of transporting stuff.

Adding a slime cube to a minecart to be able to attach more blocks to it that drive around.

    So many possibilities.

I agree.  I feel like I have combined my Idea and yours very nicely above but continue to comment if I am wrong.  Hope I summarized your thoughts well and thanks for commenting!
