Lava and Nether

I searched for lava pools above ground and in caves but only found about 3 sources of lava in an hour and a half. After that long, i ended up going into creative to give myself obsidian to go to the nether. When i got there, the nether was horrible. Nothing but a small cave and there wasn't an opening. I think world generation needs a fix.
