Minecraft has a cottagecore theme. Though yes, it has a few technical features, they are usually quite subtle and fit in. An example includes the suffixes on many of the stone type materials. A more defined example is that, though redstone has many similarities to it, redstone is not called silicon, as that would feel too scientific and modern. As such, the word oxidation realizes that rust is a result of oxygen reacting with the metal. It is a very direct reference to chemistry. My suggestion would be to swap the word oxidize with tarnish. The other issue are the names of each of the oxidation states. They are long and face a similar issue. I suggest that there be no in game references to each state of the copper blocks as they tarnish, however, they would have their own space in the creative inventory, and would have the same Named Space ID as they have now. Most items in Minecraft are similar to the medieval times and relate only to the major paradigms of the day; if the copper were changed, it would continue the atmosphere that Minecraft replicates.
