This is meant to be a less severe punishment than simply banning a player. It still lets an Exile play but keeps them generally out of everyone else's hair.
When you are given Exile status as a player, you are instantly teleported to the Nether at a random location outside of the range (-50,000, Y, -50,000 to +50,000, Y, +50,000). You also arrive with a completely empty inventory except one item, described as follows:
A Dungeon cube structure is generated in the nearest space within the Void to the X / Z coordinates you were Exiled from, empty but for two chests with everything you had had in your inventory. A signed Book and Quill is put in your inventory with the X, Y, and Z coordinates of this Dungeon recorded in it. It is your responsibility to keep track of that item in case you are pardoned.
While you have Exile status:
* You are locked into Survival game mode and cannot switch over to Creative or Spectator (even if the server is meant to be Creative-based or allows Spectating).
* If you die in the Nether, you are simply teleported to a different random location in the Nether outside the above range, unless you have a Respawn Anchor that can prevent this.
* Nether Portals do not work for you. There is nothing preventing you from building one or even activating one, but it will not let you return to the Overworld; nor do you have access to The End.
If your Exile status is pardoned and you have not lost your Book and Quill, the admin can use it to give your old stuff back.
