Adventures could be a way to solve the end game problem of minecraft becoming "too easy".
They would be actived with Adventure crystals just like in MCE. These crystals are enteties that can be found around the world like outside or underground after the enderdragon is defeated. There are suggestions for shooting stars so maybe they could fall from the sky from time to time.
When you find these you will need to punch it to collect it and bring it back home. Once that home you can place them on an active beacon to initiate it. The effect active on that beacon can be brought with you to the adventure but all you're items in you inventory will stay behind. Adventures are kinda like their own realm and are usually structures you can explore in a certain time frame. The difficulty and rewards is dependent on the rarity of the crystal. There could be new items and bosses only accessible in these adventures so there is a lot of incentive to play them. If you die in an adventure you will lose all of your experience but will keep any items to had before you started the adventure.
