The suggestion to kill Java usually sets off lots of Java players. The reason for this, however, is not that they hate the idea of ditching Java and playing on the C++ platform. In fact, we would love to get access to cross-play, and the graphical benefits of the Bedrock edition (e.g. RTX).
The point is that Bedrock is just lacking in too many regards: no free, unrestricted modding, bugs, and overall, lots of parity issues.
If Bedrock was fixed in all of these regards, everybody would be able to play the best and most uncompromised version of Minecraft ever.
So don't cling to Java; cling to the Java experience. That's what we really want - a modernized, not a compromised version of Minecraft.
