End ladders and torches

Whenever you go to the end dimension, everything is alien. The ambience created is so very different and unique to the overworld and the nether. I love this ambience but what I don't understand is why the end portal and end cities use normal, wooden, overworld torches and ladders. I don't see any reason why whoever created these cities would use wood, so I propose the idea of end ladders and torches. They could be made the same way as normal torches and ladders, and would use popped chorus fruit in place of sticks. This addition would benefit the environment of the end and a new light source is always welcome.
