Two main reasons for this big idea. First, with the past biome votes, the updates around Savannah, Desert, Swamp and the Mesa are now lacking behind schedule so it would be a good idea to implement them (maybe not all) together into one "Nature/Biome Update".
Secondly, most of the biomes lack a bit of feeling "alive" or a bit towards the real world. This is not nessecarily about adding stuff but combining mechanics like sound effects, block animations and effects that Shaders show.
Examples:
- With the new Open GL 3.2 I saw someone from Mojang made simple Waves and Wind animations. That alone just adds like 1000x more liveliness.
- Aurora Borealis in Snowy biomes (rare occurance)
- Desert storm (fog) in Desert with hazyness. Not too much that cant be played with bit enough to make a bit more that just sand and cactus that dont move at all.
- Like The Nether and the Oceans, ans possibly Caves, sounds!!!!! There is just nothing that make these biomes stand out. A bit of wind in the mountains, tropical insects in Jungles, hot dry wind in Mesa/Desert, that kind of stuff.
- Eclipse/Lunar eclipse? Maybe too much but it can provide the opportunity to do rare mob spawns or variations.
Of course, the player will have the abbility to turn these off if they want like fog/clouds etc. This is more of extra liveliness and adventure feeling for the biomes in the Overworld.
There are much more options possible here than I can write so what do you think? Comment your idea's below!
