Currently, Minecraft’s rivers are unrealistically set at sea level, and have a very small maximum width. We need to make these biomes more interesting, possibly by having them begin flowing from the tops of Minecraft’s brand new mountains, starting small as creeks, and slowly growing in size as they collect the waters of their tributaries. Flowing downhill, they would eventually hit a river delta and spill into a sea or an ocean like on earth. This would be a great opportunity to create cool variations in Minecraft’s terrain generation, and to add cool new features such as canyons and fiords!
