Biome update

I love the updates that have been given to Minecraft in the past years, they improve Minecraft's feel massively and make the game much more enjoyable to play. And I would like to see this trend of great updates be continued, and I want to share an idea I had about this.

This Idea is about updating the surface biomes, Many of these biomes feel rather empty.                    There are only a few if any reasons to go to many of these biomes and I feel this is a shame, these biomes have a lot of potential. New sub-Biomes, types of existing trees, new types of trees, and Mobs could do a lot for these Biomes. This is just an idea but I would really like to see it happen one day.
