With my fletching table functionality idea (https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360077420571-The-Fletching-Table-How-It-Would-Work ), I mentioned amethyst arrows. In this post, I would like to get more in depth with the idea. Amethyst arrows would be crafted by putting an an amethyst shard in the upgrading section of the fletching table, and one arrow. The way the amethyst arrow works is that it flies farther than normal arrows due to the aerodynamics, and every three seconds it is in the air, it splits off into another arrow. The max amount of arrows that can be split off is three, for a total of four arrows. When they hit the ground, they all fracture into damaging shards, which would do AOE damage. You have a 25% chance to be able to retrieve the original arrow, but if it all of them hit an entity, you can not retrieve it.
Any feedback?
